The Shared Table – Rev William Orr
There are many examples in the Gospels where Jesus joins in celebrations and feasts. In this sermon, Rev William Orr considers the relationship between feasting to celebrate the goodness of God, and our acts of thankfulness. Festivals reminded the Israelites of the struggles that God brought them through, providing an opportunity for reflection and an opportunity to respond through actions that benefit those around them. The shared table is the shared life – as we seek to reach into our community we should expect to follow the model of ministry shown in the gospels.
