St Mark’s Silver Band

Charity Number: NIC108277

Arguably the “Best Wee Band in Portadown” St Mark’s Silver Band has come a long way since its early beginnings as a Bugle Band way back in 1920 before becoming St Mark’s Silver Band in 1940.

With their distinctive red uniforms, band members regularly take part in parades, concerts and competitions with an impressive array of trophies and awards gathered over the years.

Currently based in the Parochial Hall, Carleton Street, Portadown, junior members and beginners meet at 6.30pm on a Thursday with the more experienced members meeting later at 7.30pm.

With their impressive repertoire, from simple tunes to more complex arrangements, members are always on hand to pass on their skills to the next generation.

Instruments are provided free of charge and assistance and guidance is available for members who wish to purchase their own equipment.

Tuition is provided free of charge, while adult members pay an annual membership fee.

Anyone interested in learning a new skill, or who wants further information, is invited to PM on Facebook.  https://www.facebook.com/  email stmarkssilverband@yahoo.co.uk or call into the Parochial Hall and ask for Aaron or Jessie.
